DIR-3 KYC Filing for Directors

Complete the director KYC that keeps your DIN active, and get it reactivated if it has already been deactivated.

Every director who holds a DIN has to keep their KYC details up to date with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. This is done through DIR-3 KYC. If it is not filed by the due date, your DIN can be deactivated, which can stop you from signing filings or acting as a director until it is fixed.

Who needs it

Anyone with a DIN, including directors of small private companies and OPCs, designated partners of LLPs who hold a DIN, and people who were directors in the past but still hold a DIN.

How FileMyGSTR helps

We check your DIN status, confirm which version of the KYC you need and arrange a digital signature if yours has expired. Our team then prepares and files the KYC while you confirm the OTPs on your phone and email. If your DIN has already been deactivated, we can help you get it reactivated and back in good standing.

Frequently asked questions

Who needs to file DIR-3 KYC?

Every individual who holds a DIN needs to complete the director KYC requirement set by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, whether or not they are currently a director of any company.

What happens if I do not file DIR-3 KYC?

Your DIN can be marked as deactivated. While it is deactivated you may not be able to act as a director or sign MCA filings, and reactivating it involves a late fee. We can help you get it reactivated.

How often do I need to file?

Directors have to update their KYC periodically, by the due date set by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The frequency has been changed in the past, so we will confirm when your next KYC is due.

What is the difference between DIR-3 KYC form and DIR-3 KYC web?

The full form is used for a first-time KYC or when your contact details have changed. The web-based version is a quicker confirmation for directors whose details have not changed. We will tell you which applies to you.

Why does the KYC need my personal mobile and email?

OTPs are sent to the director's own mobile number and email for verification, so you will need access to both while we file.
